Bugatti Veyron on sale for £1.2million 2010

One of the fastest cars on the planet, the Bugatti Veyron, is on sale in the UK - for a cool £1.2million.

It has a top speed of 253mph, one of the highest ever for a car designed for road use, and is the only one of its kind for sale in the UK at the moment.

Each of the 300 Veyrons cost a staggering £5million to build, so although this means a substantial loss on each one, Bugatti is said to be hoping it will emphasise the exclusivity of the brand.

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen racing one in a TV advert for sportswear giant Nike, and footballers and millionaires are expected to fall over themselves to even get a viewing of the supercar.

There are thought to be only a dozen in the country, and it has taken pride of place at the Lamborghini Manchester dealership in Stockport and has already attracted a lot of interest.

"It would make an ideal Christmas gift but I think it's only going to appeal to footballers, celebrities, Russian billionaires or oil tycoons," said Mark Woore, sales manager at Lamborghini Manchester.

"You probably won't see it driving around the streets of Stockport as the insurance liability is too high.

"Anyone interested would have to go to our factory and arrange a test drive.

"It is awesome and a real piece of motoring history as no one will be able to replicate it. I won't be allowed to drive it. We have to keep it new for its lucky owner."

Security has had to be stepped up for the next week while the car - and its eight litre engine - remains at the showroom.

"We have to make sure it is very well protected so we have extra security including an alarm specifically for the area it is in," Mr Woore added.

However, the car's top speed is thought to be beaten by a 340mph "car", built with jet fighter technology and partly designed and built in Britain.

The Acabion GTBO reaches 300mph in just thirty seconds, say its designers, making it the fastest-ever road vehicle.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu

The new car comes with a different interpretation of the two-tone concept, one that first appeared on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu. This time, the car features dark grey carbon fibre, framed whilst the bottom part of the car is finished in polished aluminum. The lower intakes are now polished in order to create a brilliant shine while the rims are the same as those on the Bugatti Pur Sang, with Ebony Pearl inner sides and a Diamond Cut face. Inside, the car features a silver colour on the dashboard, centre console, seats and interior trim panels. As the Grand Sport Blue Carbon, this car was sold too for an impressive 1.65 million euros (ex works). Photo gallery after the jump!

Lamborghini Top 5 Cars 2010

Automobili Lamborghini was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini, the child of viticulturists from the comune (township) of Renazzo di Cento, Province of Ferrara, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy.[1][4] After serving as a mechanic in the Regia Aeronautica,[5][6] during World War II, Lamborghini went into business building tractors out of leftover military hardware from the war effort. By the mid-1950s, Lamborghini's tractor company, Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A.,[7] had become one of the largest agricultural equipment manufacturers in the country.[8] He was also the owner of a successful gas heater and air conditioning manufacturer.
Lamborghini's wealth allowed him to cultivate a childhood interest in cars, owning a number of luxury automobiles including Alfa Romeos, Lancias, Maseratis, and a Mercedes Benz.[9] He purchased his first Ferrari, a 250GT, in 1958, and went on to own several more. Lamborghini was fond of the Ferraris, but considered them too noisy and rough to be proper road cars, likening them to repurposed track cars.[9] Lamborghini decided to pursue an automobile manufacturing venture, with the goal of bringing to life his vision of a perfect grand tourer

Audi Cars & R8 5.2 FSI Quattro Coupe Price $155,100

Audi announces U.S. 2010 model-year prices for its Audi R8 sports cars, including the V10-powered R8 5.2 FSI quattro

Audi today announced that the U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the highly anticipated 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro V10 sports car will start at $146,000, with shipments to authorized Audi R8 dealerships across the country beginning this week.

Audi said the MSRP for the 2010 Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro will start at $114,200, unchanged from the base prices for 2009 models:

2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI® quattro® (V10) pricing (excluding $1,200 destination charge, taxes, title, options and dealer charges):

R8 5.2 FSI quattro coupe (manual) $146,000
R8 5.2 FSI quattro coupe (R tronic) $155,100

2010 Audi R8 4.2 FSI® quattro® (V8) pricing (excluding $1,200 destination charge, taxes, title, options and dealer charges):
R8 4.2 FSI quattro coupe (manual) $114,200
R8 4.2 FSI quattro coupe (R tronic) $123,300

The largest shareholder of Audi AG is Volkswagen AG, which holds over 99 percent of the share capital. Volkswagen AG includes the consolidated accounts of Audi AG in its own consolidated financial statements. In recent years, the possibility of Audi being spun off or otherwise divested by Volkswagen has been mooted

From 2002 up to 2007, Audi headed the Audi Brand Group, the Volkswagen Group's automotive sub-division, consisted of Audi together with SEAT and Lamborghini, that was focused on more sporty values, with the marques' product vehicles and performance being under the higher responsibility of the Audi brand

Audi's sales grew strongly in the 2000s, with deliveries to customers increasing from 653,000 in 2000 to 1,003,000 in 2008. The largest sales increases came from Eastern Europe (+19.3%), Africa (+17.2%) and the Middle East (+58.5%).[citation needed]. China in particular has become a key market, representing 108,000 out of 705,000 cars delivered in the first three quarters of 2009.
